Public programs and God

So, today at work we were playing Scategories and the topic I gave the kids was Thanksgiving. So the kids got in their groups and were coming up with all the things related to Thanksgiving. A minute passed and I told them all to finish up the word they were on and put their pencils down. Then we went around from group to group talking about what they wrote down. You got the obvious answers....turkey, stuffing, family, pilgrims, pies, etc, well then one answer came up that was obvious to me and some other kids in the room, but was a completely new concept to others. One group had written down prayer. And when they said it, the little girl asked me "Miss Sam what's prayer?" I was devastated. Some of the other kids started laughing at her because they grew up with it their entire lives, where to her, this was a brand new concept. And of course because we are a public program I was not able to sit there and tell her what it is. I was so heart broken. I just wanted to sit down with her and tell her all about God, but I couldn't. I had to ignore the question and continue playing the game. I wish there was something more I could of done, and I pray that she will be able to talk to someone about it who can lead her to God.

Youth group

Can I just say that I LOVE it when people agree to come to youth group with me?? I especially love it when they are still somewhat on the fence about God. ahh!! It makes me so happy to know that they are interested!!! It's not always easy to be a Christian at school or even in our group of friends, but she is willing to see what it is like and I'm so excited!!!! yay!!!

Painting and friends

So, today we had the church breakfast which was very nerve raking because I had to watch my own video. It's so weird to see and hear yourself. ahh. Oh well, I survived.

So after that I went over to Amy's and we sat down and watched Monster's Inc. 2319!!!!!!!! yess, that's right. Then we painted her kitchen. I never know painting could be so much fun. I definitely fell on the ground twice because I could not contain my laughter. You pretty much had to be there to understand how hard I was laughing. Let's see if I can give you a few examples. Beth: "I love you like a fat kid loves cake." Me: "I hate you like a fat kid hates fruit." hahaha. Beth: " Not trying to toot my own horn here..." Amy: " Toot Toot!" hahaha. Wow, good times.

mmhhhhmmm then we went to my FAVORITE restaurant...BW'S!! We got SOOOO many wings it was redic. They were delicious thought.

After dinner I went to the Blair's to give them my left overs, and I ended up watching Juno there!! yess!! One of my favorite movies....ahhh!!! Josh wasn't a fan, but that's okay. =]

Loosing my Best Friend...

To lose a friend is the greatest of all losses.

Trying to forget some one you love is like trying to remember some one you never knew.

It takes a minute to like some one, an hour to love some one, but to forget some one it takes a life time.


Moving on is simple, what you leave behind, that makes it so difficult.

It's weird...you know the end of something great is coming, but you want to hold on, just for one more second...just so it can hurt a little more.

Stupid Drivers

So, it really bothers me that this girl today decided to rear end me. She was completely not paying attention to driving at all. She was talking to someone in her car not paying any attention to her car that is MOVING and rear ends me. That is one reason I hate the West parking lot, no one pays attention and people drive crazy and stupid all the time. Oh well, it definitely could have been worse. There were no damages to either car or injuries to anyone.

It was really funny because Carley was in the car with me and we had just got done talking about Newtons Laws of Motion in our physics class not 10 minutes earlier. It was hilarious how we were able to apply our lesson in physics class to the car accident we just got in. Oh boy...good times.

Parents

Okay...come on now, how hard is it to call your child's day care provider and tell the workers that your child is not going to be there that day? I mean really, in all reality you protect your child more, and it's just common courtesy. I don't like having to worry about if a child got picked up by their parents or if I just left them somewhere. I mean really, come on! I have 22 other kids to take care of and if that would just happen, it would make my job that much easier. I can understand if they are a new parent and aren't aware of that policy, but parents that have been with us for two years now should know...but apparently they don't. Ughh. Whatever.

Getting older

When people ask me what I'm going to do when I grow up...I tell them that I will never grow up, I will just get older. I will always be a kid at heart.

However, I don't even want to get older right now. I'm pretty content with living my life the way it is. I don't want to leave next year and go to college. I'm going to miss everyone far too much! I'm going to miss Fox River far too much! Sure I'll come back home on breaks and visit, but it won't be the same. Things will have changed, people will have changed, I will have changed. I don't want to loose the closeness I have with some people, but it's bound to happen, it's life. It's apparently God's plan to put me 4 hours away from the people that I love and care about the most. I have to follow God though, I need to live my life for him and not for anyone else. I need to stop being afraid of what's going to happen and just trust in Him. He is the way, the truth and the light.
